Hena Mahboob, RCC (#18573)
Originally from London, UK, I moved to Canada in 2008. I pursued a career in human resources and business management, developing a passion for the growth and development of the individuals with whom I had the privilege of working alongside. I believe the years I have spent working on myself, with attention to: emotional regulation, stress management, self/other acceptance, depression, and anxiety, has provided me with a foundation from which I can best serve others.
My goal is to provide individuals with a safe environment for self-exploration and discovery. I will support you as you work to create sustainable and meaningful change to become a better version of yourself.
My approach is active-directive, as needed, recognising the importance in relationships as being a catalyst for change. I believe the quality of the therapeutic relationship is an important part of the work we do together so you can expect a collaborative experience that will be tailored to the unique intersectionality and contexts that are present for you, recognising you as the expert of your life.
I believe change is hard and certainly possible! I am committed to personalizing our sessions, suggesting tools and techniques for coping with life’s challenges so you can work on getting better, and staying better!
Individuals who choose to work with me can expect a non-judgemental and confidential space in which one is given the opportunity to discuss their inner thoughts, feelings and experiences.
I will support, and at times challenge you, so you can honestly evaluate and clarify values, meaning, motivations and what really matters to you.
I will give you the space in which to work out how to best cope with the challenges you are presently experiencing and empower you to draw upon your many strengths.
